Maintenance Technician
Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, as well as preventative maintenance, to ensure the integrity of infrastructure and production equipment performance.
Basic Requirements:
- Follow all Safety and cGMP procedures
- Install, alter, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical molding and lining equipment, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC system when needed
- Perform all required preventative maintenance tasks within the timeline specified on all assigned equipment in the molding department and building utilities/infrastructure
- Complete any required documentation
- Assist with any other tasks asked of you when needed in order to be a team player and assist wherever needed
- Assist with mold changes when needed
- Responsibilities include the above, but are not limited to the above; a maintenance technician may be assigned any maintenance related task
- Assist PM team when necessary on PMs and special projects
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Minimum five years combined maintenance experience on injection molding machines and related production equipment. (Preferred)
- Provide leadership to maintenance tech level 1 and 2 and guide their shift and oncoming shift
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
- Ability to read/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, hydraulic and electrical prints and procedure manuals
- Plant shut down and start up (proficient)
- Proficient in print reading – electrical and hydraulic
- Capable of effective communication with tech support in trouble shooting scenarios and parts
- Proficient in all aspects of maintenance
- Proficient in plant infrastructure and knowledge of all tower, chillers, dryers, pumps, etc. that are vital to plant operation
- Emphasis on regaining machines to production status – timely and effectively
- Ability to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch
- Capable of performing job duties with little or no supervision
- Capable of welding
- Able to work well with others and in a team environment
- Maintain a neat and orderly appearance of shop and molding machines
- Ability to lift 40 lbs over shoulder height and 75 lbs to waist at a minimum of 10 times per day
- Ability to push/pull 200 lbs at a minimum of 10 times per day
- Ability to work at heights. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness
- Ability to climb ladders safely and without assistance for a minimum of 10 times per day
- Ability to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts
- Ability to work overhead or in an awkward position on a frequent basis
- Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and/or paging system
- Must be able to work around grease, oils and solvents without adverse reaction
- Ability to stand/walk for 11 hours of a 12 hour shift. Or 7 hours of an 8 hour shift
- Take control of a machine when a situation arises that has the potential for personal injury or rapid deterioration of equipment
